FinOps in the Developer Platform
Priced before it is created, tracked against a budget, with saving suggestions the owners decide on.
NGT's platform pattern makes cost part of the request. A developer asks for resources in the portal; the platform prices the Terraform plan from the cloud's price list and sends anything above the threshold to an approver. The owner sets a budget and a threshold; current cost is fetched and compared, and a notification goes out as soon as the threshold is crossed. Current billing and configuration go to a language model, which drafts saving suggestions that are emailed to the owners, who decide.
Point at a component to light its links; select it for what it does here and the practice that makes it right on AWS.
When to use it
- An internal developer platform or self-service portal that provisions cloud resources
- Teams that create resources often and see the cost only at month end
- Owners who want suggestions, not changes made for them
How NGT delivers it
Built from code, reviewed at a gate by an NGT architect, and handed over with runbooks your team can run.
